1st Fundador Corporate Cup unwraps on Saturday
The First Fundador Brandy Corporate Cup unwraps on Saturday at the Red Pam Diner’s Darts Station and Retro Village.
Organizer Jecle Rosales told sportswriters on Thursday’s Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn that 16 teams are seeing action in the event that will played every Saturdays until March.
Players from the Madayaw na Agila Darts Club, Inc., Dabawenyo Darts Club, Inc., Karaan Davao Darters Association, Inc. and the Metro Davao Dartssport Federation, Inc. have prepared for the competition that starts at 7 p.m.
Rosales said that after the Corporate Cup, they will also organize a tournament for the youth to discover new talents.
Jan Jan Hinojales, best remembered for playing in the World Cup of Darts in Australia, will lead the oath of sportsmanship.

Genesis 88 Advertising collides with Ateneo de Davao University in the semifinals of the 2nd Escandor Cup on Saturday at the Emcor court in Bajada.
Game time is at 8 a.m.
The other semifinal game is between General Headquarters and Dasia Digos at 9:30 a.m.

Australian Sports Ambassadors build friendship with Filipinos

The Australian Sports Ambassadors from Perth are enjoying their stay in Davao City, gaining friends and spreading the Word of God through basketball.
Team captain Greg Beacham, a teacher in Perth, said that they have built relationships with Filipinos in Bukidnon Province where they also played a series of games.
They intend to have the same output after a series of games in Davao City with Brokenshire College, MATS College of Technology, and the Duterte Agilas-City Mayor’s Office led by City Sports Coordinator Christopher “Bong” Go.
Coach Jeff Long said that they were able to play and teach for several years but not only that, the Australians this year were able to help build a Children’s Home in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
During the half time breaks, they conduct a Bible study for the spectators to learn more about Jesus.
“And it is very encouraging to know that people change for the better,” said Long on Thursday’s Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn.
The Australians will play their last games on Thursday and take a break on Friday before leaving back to Manila later in the evening.
Aside from from the six-foot-five Beacham and Long, the other Sports Ambassadors are 6’9” Joshua Manthe, 6’4” Giles Creelman, 6’3” Paul Beacham, 6’3” Mark Beacham, 6’3” Danny Cook, 6’” Mike Valenti, 6’2” Hedley Taylor, 6’0” Brad Potts and 5’10 Rufo Cabunkal.

The visit of the Australian Sports Ambassadors and the Escandor Cup are the main topics of the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum, Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at the Tower Inn.

The Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum resumes on Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at the Tower Inn with various topics to be discussed.
Invited as guests are Department of Education-City Schools Division Officer-In-Charge Helen Paguican who will talk about the Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet and organizer Domingo “Bong” Vergara who will discuss about the Dover Tatlohan Tournament.
Joining them are PhilCycling XI Director Salvador Paholio Jr. and Datu Uchida Development Foundation Sports Coordinator Yusuke Uchida.
