Bigger, better ISAA opens Aug.2

A bigger and better Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) will be ushered on August 2 when its third season formally comes off the wraps at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
       Three games are on tap on opening day that starts at 10 a.m., with no less than Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) commissioner Atty. Chito Salud as the keynote speaker.
       Newcomer St. Dominic College of Asia takes on Manila Doctors College in the first game, followed by the match pitting La Consolacion against Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP), before Manila Adventist Medical Center and Colleges collide with Feati University cap the day-long event.
       League president Atty. Jose Yayen of La Consolacion College appeared on Tuesday’s PSA Forum at Shakey’s U.N. Ave. together with other ISAA officers Melanie Florentino of Feati and Ruel dela Rosa of Manila Doctors College.
       Philippine Women’s University (PWU) and Lyceum University of the Philippines complete the eight-school team.
       Yayen however, clarified at the same session presented by PAGCOR, Smart, Outlast Battery and Shakey’s that Lyceum will only be competing in women’s basketball as it is already seeing action as guest team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).
       Basketball and volleyball will be played during the first semester, while table tennis, badminton and swimming are on tap in the second semester.
