Res/Toe/Run hits road on July 24

RUNNING as a family affair takes on a new and exciting twist when the first Res/Toe/Run “Run for All” hits the road on July 24 at the picturesque but challenging Nuvali eco community in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
“Running in the country has become a family experience so we have come up with an innovative fun run that will require the teamwork and cooperation of all participants,” said Res/Toe/Run brand manager Joy Austria in yesterday’s PSA forum at the Shakey’s UN Avenue branch in Manila.
“The team members will be composed of one child not older than 15 years old and one male and female adult runner each, who all may either be members of one family or friends,” Austria added in the same session presented by Smart, PAGCOR, Shakey’s and Outlast Battery.
She added that the adult runners must be 18 years old and above.
Unlike other fun runs, race director Neville Manaois, who joined Austria at the forum,  said that the “Run for All” will be a relay starting with the child runner, who will negotiate a two-kilometer obstacle course in the open field.
The children will be handed a bracelet along the route as a sign that they have completed the race, which they will hand over to the female second-leg runners who must race through a three-kilometer circuit around Nuvali Lake.
They will also be awarded bracelets as they run around the course before heading back to base camp,  then turn these over to the male runners who will run the last leg, a five-kilometer trail within the sprawling residential-commercial estate.
The male entries will also be given a third bracelet before returning to base camp, after which all three team members will run together to the finish line, with the top three teams  being declared the winners.
“Most of the runners who will take part in the ‘Run for All’ are mostly the customers of Res/Toe/Run and their families”.
She said that the activity is included in Res/Toe/Run’s campaign and commitment to promote running as part of a healthy and active lifestyle for every Filipino family.
The champion team will receive P50,000 in gift certificates and a trip for three to the resort island of Boracay. The runner-up team will receive P30,000 in Res/Toe/Run GCs while third place P20,00 in GCs.
All Res/Toe/Run outlets carry durable and quality running shoes such as Columbia Sportswear, Salomon and The North Face, which are all sponsors of the competition, Austria said. Other sponsors are Nuvali, Pocari Sweat, Seair, Nutri Bar, Total Fitness, Front Runner, Dispatch, Takbo.ph and Mellow 94.7.
Res/Toe/Run is a member of the Primer Group of Companies, a top retail and distribution conglomerate with presence all over the country and Asia.
Register now until July 15 at all Res/Toe/Run stores in Metro Manila, The North Face SM Megamall and SM North Edsa, Columbia Sportswear Greenbelt 5 and SM Mall of Asia, and R.O.X. Bonifacio High Street, Taguig.(PSA PR)
