Holcim table tennis event at Smashville

IT'S all systems go for the 3rd Holcim Table Tennis Tournament set on Saturday at the Smashville Fitness Center.

This was bared by Metro Davao Table Tennis Association (Medatta) spokesperson Friendee Nuñez in Thursday's Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at the Tower Inn.

"This tournament is exclusive for all Holcim employees. There are nine participants in men's singles advance category, 15 players in women's singles and 51 in men's singles intermediate," Nuñez said.

He said participants will be grouped into brackets and will play the round robin format.

"The top player in each bracket will advance to the next single elimination round of the meet that stakes cash prizes and medals to the winners," he said.

Nuñez said that Medatta is open to helping government and non-government agencies as well as private corporations and companies in forming badminton clubs.

"Medatta, through the leadership of Dr. Louie Metran, is looking forward to conduct an inter-club competition. We are open to holding clinics and forming clubs," Nuñez said. (MLSA)
